The introduction of bing has really caused a widespread debate among the internet users, regarding which Search engine is leading the race?is Bing good enough?Bing, the recent addition From Microsoft is really a handful.A very clean looking search engine with a new image everyday...is quite refreshing.Other advantage is that whenever one moves the cursor over the indexed pages a small box shows up,displaying a brief introduction about the page along with other important links of that specific page.
Another important aspect, that caught my eye is that Bing shows the related searches on the right hand side of the search page, unlike google which shows the related searches in the bottom of the search page--thus in Bing you don't have to scroll downward for the related searches.
Now coming to the most important aspect of a search engine---How does it actually search.Yesterday i run the three search giants Google,Yahoo,Bing on a test.My first word to be searched in each of the three engines was a relatively new term in the medical field'Endometrial glandular Dysplasia'--The results were almost the same in three of them with slight variation in the ranking of the individual pages. In both Google and Bing the results were from Pubmed and ncbi and other very trusted internet resources. So,this does test does not conform to the rumour that Bing is little too spammy.
But the 2nd test showed some important results.Inthis test i tried to search bestsurfer.blogspot.com in each of the three giants--This blog is hardly a week old,so i never expected it to be indexed by the big three...but surprisingly it was indexed by Goggle and yahoo both. But sadly Bing, lagged in this respect.I guess, indexing of new sites,is a little slow in Bing.
But still one should not forget,Bing is so new...in this short time it has really created a positive vibe...let's see how it goes in the long run.Little bit of competition is always healthy.
