When i started to blog,it was a pretty amateurish start,and still now i do not think i am a professional blogger[I can't be ever,because my most important job is pretty difficult to say the least].So i decided to go for a blog platform,that is absolutely free.And thus blogger.com was the first option.Although,blogger.com is absolutely free,but every good thing comes with some shady bits.The main problem with blogger is perhaps SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION[SEO],oh,i have read this term millions of times but i really do not understand much off it.Perhaps the experienced bloggers would be able to shade a light on it.
The problems that i faced with blogger.com is the 1.limited number of templates 2.The templates are not that much attractive.But one lucky thing is that there are several sites that offer free blogger templates that are really awesome.But when you use these templates,you must know a little bit of HTML.[I think as you start blogging,by trial and error you come to know a little bit of HTML].I also hope after the acquisition of blogspot by Google,there will be some improvements with blogger.com in the coming times.
Still now i have not tried Wordpress,but from what i have read over the net,it appears that for professional blogging,Wordpress is much better.It provides a free blogging software but the hosting is not free.Thus it seems that for amateur bloggers like me,Blogger.com is a good option.
